As part of Cultural Sentiment we raise the need to introduce applications of opinion mining techniques that may be useful from other points of view. The basic idea in a sentiment analysis based on the use of lexicons is that the occurrence of certain words is also likely to induce emotions in the people reading the texts. With this in mind we have carried out a sentiment analysis work on technical and descriptive texts of several elements of Spanish industrial heritage. This work has been carried out with two objectives: the first, to determine whether the texts themselves, despite being descriptive, can induce positive or negative feelings as a result of a choice of words; the second, to find to what extent even the sentiment analysis itself is able to identify the elements of industrial heritage at risk in a critical situation from a technical description. For this purpose, we took the cards of different heritage elements created by IPCE through an interactive map.
