Can we use artificial intelligence to design tourist routes? The truth is that artificial intelligence tools are already used for the optimal design of tourist routes so they have a direct application in the case of industrial heritage. But most scientific publications dedicate space to the application of the mathematical problem solving of the tourist route optimization as some version of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) to calculate the optimal paths between nodes using different heuristic algorithms. Our proposal is to apply AI in the choice of the main nodes of the routes by identifying the points of interest (POI) using sentiment analysis from the different tourist profiles. Once an optimal route is available from the point of view of the tourist´s emotional experience, variants of the TSP problems of lower complexity can be introduced.
