During the implementation of the Cultural Sentimient project we created a catalog of images and documents on elements of Spanish industrial heritage. The objective was the creation of NFT as a line of product development by the company for the promotion of our cultural legacy both in terms of tangible and intangible heritage linked to industrial activity. This material is presented in the product catalogs that you can access through the corresponding section of this website.
To obtain the NFT we develop two lines of work. In one of them we use artificial intelligence techniques to generate new images by combining photographs of heritage elements and different textures of paintings. For the other we collaborate with artists and graphic designers to create unique content for our collections.
For the creation of NFT with deep learning algorithms, we opted for the use of style transfer techniques. These techniques combine the main elements of a photographic image with a pictorial texture to obtain a new image that shares the general characteristics of the former and the chromatic, grain or similar aspects of the latter. This has allowed us to obtain digital creations of images representative of elements of industrial heritage but with characteristics of pictorial works. To evaluate the attractiveness of each image we can also apply an algorithm developed by UriaXait S. L. for the prediction of the valuations of a pictorial work of art from a set of attributes linked to the perception of the work and its interpretation. The images were obtained from the web under the criterion that the image was explicitly indicated as being in the public domain without specific rights of attribution for modification. Significant elements have been chosen that are either of interest because they are included in national industrial heritage plans or because they are significant for other reasons.
In the other line of work we have resorted to digital artists for the creation of NFT linked to the Spanish industrial heritage. In this case the starting idea has been the creation of illustrations or digital compositions inspired by elements of industrial heritage but with a different approach than usual. For this, we chose to consider different scenarios from the imaginary of science fiction and fantasy to introduce different fantastic elements either around the buildings or around the landscape.
